Laurel Church is dedicated to Missions:

Making disciples is the backbone of any church body.  Just before Christ ascended into heaven He commanded us to go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, and to teach them to obey everything He commanded us to do.  A necessary and important part of making disciples is Missions.  Therefore, we at Laurel seek to glorify God through the support and the encouragement of missionaries who preach the gospel in the United States and abroad.

There are several ways to support Laurel’s missionaries:

  • Pray for them.
  • Communicate with them by e-mail or letters.
  • Give financially to support them.
  • Show hospitality to them when they are in our area.

Our Missionaries

David Moore
Director of Operations for Firm Foundation in Christ Ministries

FFICM trains national pastors, church leaders, and church members in evangelism and follow-up so that the people who come to Christ through their ministry will be established in lifelong discipleship. This local organization is active in Nigeria, Ethiopia, Cameroon, Niger, Uganda, Russia, and Spain. David has served for a number of years with Wycliffe in Indonesia and is now the Director of Operations for FFICM.

Nick Schuetze

Nick works with Cru (Campus Crusade for Christ) in Colorado Springs with a focus on mentoring, discipling, and evangelizing student athletes. Recently, Nick and other Cru staff began a new Christian club at a nearby Junior College. He also helps run the Altitude Project summer XC running camp. His mission trip to South Asia provided opportunities to see God at work on an international scale.

Trevor Hollis

Trevor serves at Southern Utah University with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship whose goal is to see students and faculty transformed, campuses renewed, and world changers developed. He desires to empower students that are already involved in ministry and encourage them to reach out to every corner of the campus. He has made several mission trips to Kenya where he observed the challenges and the opportunities that believers face in that country. Trevor is seeking God’s guidance regarding possible future ministry overseas.

Debbie Skufca
Entrust Ministry

Debbie is a homegrown missionary sent out by Laurel Community Church in 1984 to work with Entrust, a multi-mission effort to train disciple-making pastors, lay leaders, and women behind the Iron Curtain. After the fall of communism in Europe, she moved from Vienna to Romania where she developed an effective ongoing women’s ministry. Currently, she is based here at Laurel where she has developed women’s ministry programs. Now that she is certified by Entrust as a trainer, she is looking to train globally where Entrust has their training hubs.
