Meet our Pastors

Interim Pastor Steven Hardy

Pastor Steven Hardy was born and raised around Salem, Oregon, attending both the University of Oregon and Western Oregon University, later graduating from Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, Illinois. He and Beth, who is from upstate New York, met at Moody and were married in 1980, a year after graduation. Beth completed her Elementary Education degree at Grace College in Indiana, and taught 3rd grade 17 years before retiring in 2021. Steve received additional degrees from Grace Seminary and Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. They have served churches in Illinois, New York, and Michigan, and for 20 years served as lead pastor of Damascus Community Church, east of Portland, before retiring in July 2021. The Hardys have four married children, and six grandchildren.

A favorite passage for Steve is Exodus 15:2, “The LORD is my strength and my song, and he has become my salvation…”

Pastoral Intern Trevor Hollis

Trevor Hollis has been working as the Pastoral Intern since the beginning of 2022. He is currently serving as the co-director for the Youth Church with his wife María Paula. Trevor grew up in the area and attended Laurel during his childhood. After graduating high school, Trevor went to Utah to study Agricultural Science in college. It was during this time that Trevor developed a passion for ministry and this led him to become a campus minister of InterVarsity Christian Fellowship to plant a ministry at his alma mater. In 2019, Trevor met and married his wife who had moved to the United States from Costa Rica to serve in ministry. A year later, they moved back to Oregon and started to attend Laurel. Currently, Trevor is studying at Western Seminary to become a pastor. He gets excited about sharing the Gospel, developing leaders, and prayer. Both he and María Paula enjoy hanging out with family and friends, going on road trips, and eating food from other cultures.
