Mission

Laurel Church Preschool is a ministry of Laurel Community Church.  Together we are committed to introduce children to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ through a personal relationship with the Savior and to uphold parents in the training of their children.  Laurel Church Preschool will provide opportunities for spiritual, intellectual and cognitive, emotional and social, and physical growth appropriate to the age of each student, so they may grow in wisdom and stature and favor with God and man.  (see Luke 2:52b)

Curriculum

Laurel Church Preschool has been working with children since 1971.  We intentionally maintain small class sizes in order to focus on the whole child. Our teachers are experienced and have a passion to help their students gain the most from the opportunities we provide. It is our intention to offer a safe and encouraging environment where children can learn, play, and interact with others.

Our curriculum includes the following:

  • Pre-K reading and writing skills
  • Pre-K math skills
  • Small and large motor skills, through games, writing, cutting and free play
  • Field trips
  • One-on-one teaching through learning centers
  • Music and rhymes
  • Creative expression through crafts, painting and cooking
  • Planned activities to promote positive peer interaction
  • Christian values through stories and chapel

Laurel Church Preschool is a non-profit Christian preschool operated by Laurel Community Church.  The purpose of the preschool is to provide opportunities for social, spiritual, mental and physical growth appropriate to the age of each student.  We will appreciate and value the success level of each student.  Because maturity varies from child to child at this age, it is not appropriate to expect the same thing from all children.  Therefore, even though all the children will be given the the same learning tools in the classroom, we do not expect all to develop at the same rate.  We will attempt to make the preschool a gentle learning environment.  Laurel Church Preschool has a racially nondiscriminatory policy as to students and therefore does not discriminate against applicants and students on the basis of race, color, and national or ethnic origins

Laurel Church Preschool is operated by a preschool board composed of five appointed members from the Laurel Church congregation, an elder, and the Head Preschool Teacher.
