22 Since you have purified your souls in obedience to the truth for a sincere love of the brothers and sisters, fervently love one another from [a]the heart, 23 for you have been born again not of seed which is perishable, but imperishable, that is, through the living and enduring word of God. 24 For,

“All flesh is like grass,
And all its glory is like the flower of grass.
The grass withers,
And the flower falls off,
25 But the word of the Lord endures forever.”

And this is the word which was [b]preached to you.

As Newborn Babes

2 Therefore, rid yourselves of all [c]malice and all deceit and [d]hypocrisy and [e]envy and all [f]slander, 2 and like newborn babies, long for the [g]pure [h]milk of the word, so that by it you may grow [i]in respect to salvation, 3 if you have tasted [j]the kindness of the Lord.

Pastor Steven Hardy was born and raised around Salem, Oregon, attending both the University of Oregon and Western Oregon University, later graduating from Moody Bible. Institute in Chicago, Illinois. He and Beth, who is from upstate New York, met at Moody and were married in 1980, a year after graduation. Beth completed her Elementary.Education degree at Grace College in Indiana, and taught 3rd grade 17 years before retiring in 2021.
